2016 Season Draws to a Close

The 2016 Horse Tramway season drew to a close on Sunday 30th October with the final tram of the day being pulled by Mark, the oldest and smallest (and probably fastest) 'Trammer' in service.  He wore an illuminated collar as the GMT clock change brought the hours of darkness into the late afternoon timetable!

Yesterday, many of the 'Trammers' were taken to their winter grazing fields where they will spend the next 18 weeks or so.

Douglas Bay Horse Tramway services will resume in Spring 2017.  The Timetable & Fares will be published on our website and Facebook page as soon as they become available.  We are expecting a number of the horses to participate in traditional ploughing matches over the winter, so we will continue to publish news and views of their activities and any developments on the Tramway itself regarding changes to the Douglas Promenades, the stables and the tramcar depot.
