Why not show your support for the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway by becoming a Friend of ....

Joining Friends of Douglas Bay Horse Tramway helps us to demonstrate tangible public support for maintaining the tram service along the Douglas promenades using horse-drawn original tramcars.

Maintaining a working role for heavy horses (in our case Clydesdales and Shires) is also an important element of their equine breed conservation.

Friends of Douglas Bay Horse Tramway is an independent community group established in September 2014 to help promote and support the continued operation of the world's last remaining 19th century original horse-drawn passenger tramway, running along the seafront promenades of Douglas, capital of the Isle of Man, since 1876.

The Tramway forms an intrinsic part of the Island's heritage offering to visitors; it is an icon for both Douglas and the Isle of Man, part of the nation's identity.
